WACO softball suffered an 18-3 defeat to the new #15 team in Class 1A, Holy Trinity Catholic, last Tuesday.

The Crusaders had a consistent bat over the four innings played, but it was WACO who scored first, going up 1-0 after the top of the first. However, it was a short-lived lead, as HTC took a 7-1 lead after the bottom half. WACO scored two to cut the deficit to 7-3 after their half of the second, but another seven runs in the bottom frame allowed the Crusaders to pull away at 14-3. Another four runs in the bottom of the third brought about the final score of 18-3.

The Warriors had four hits in Tuesday’s loss, two of which came from Trinity Dean, both singles. The other two came from the bat of Mei Leichty. Dean and Sophia Schneider both had RBIs. Savannah Harris pitched 2.2 innings, giving up 10 earned runs, with Kinsey Hildebrand pitching the final two outs. The loss dropped WACO to 1-19.
