There’s a full slate of events planned for the City of Wellman’s annual 4th of July celebrations.

The day will begin with yoga at the North Park bandshell at 8 a.m. Registration can be done in-person at the Wellman YMCA or on the Y360 app. At 9:30 a.m., kids aged 12 and younger are invited to participate in the kiddie parade downtown, followed by the main parade beginning at 10 a.m. 

Following the parade, the activities continue into the afternoon, with the kids’ pedal pull starting at noon at the North Park tennis courts. Other activities at North Park include food vendors, bingo, horseshoes, pony rides and face painting. 

Live music will begin at 5 p.m. at the North Park bandshell. Singer-songwriter Trevor Hougardy of the alternative indie-rock group ok.kool. will perform until 6:30 p.m. Country and rock cover band Aces and Eights will take over at 7 p.m. and perform until 10. 

The main event, the fireworks show, will begin at dusk. Live music will continue after the fireworks show.

The KCII Big Red Radio will be in Wellman from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday as part of the Summer Town Tour.
