The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team made it four-straight-victories to start 2026 with a 10-3 win in Kalona Friday over Mount Pleasant. The Panthers struck first with a single tally in their first at-bat, but the Mount Pleasant momentum was short-lived. Mid-Prairie scored six in the bottom half and never looked back, leading 6-1 after one and 8-1 after two. Each team scored twice in the sixth. The Hawks knocked around Panther pitching to the tune of 10 team hits. Sophie Miller had three knocks with two RBI and two runs scored. Kadence Grout drove in two with two hits and scored a run while Claire Trimpe belted a homer and scored three times. Naomi Wadsworth moved to 3-0 with her complete game win with five hits, two earned runs, five strikeouts and two walks. The Golden Hawks are 4-0 on the year as Mount Pleasant dips to 1-2.
