Two area teams finished in the top three at the Girls State Golf Competition last week.

The class 1A Highland Huskies girls team consisting of Kenzie Davis, Cassidy Duster, Autumn Guseman, Adisyn Prottsman, Joslyn Prottsman, and Emersyn Schultz finished as state runners-up. The class 1A girls championships was held at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks girls took third place in the 2A competition. The team included Morgyn Bender, Delani Blum, Paiton Chittick, Macie Ihrig, Noelle Nelson, and Olivia Swartzendruber. The class 2A competition was held at the American Legion Course in Marshalltown.

The 2026 Iowa High School Girls State Golf Championships were held May 28th and 29th.
