The Keota Eagle baseball team was a conference winner last week, shutting out North Mahaska 2-0. The Eagles gained an early advantage with a first inning run, and tacked on an insurance tally in the fifth. That was more than enough offense for the Eagle staff led by starter and winning pitcher Blake Baker with his five and third innings with two hits, no earned runs, 10 strikeouts and a walk. Brennan McGuire came out of the pen for the five out save, giving up nothing and striking out one. At the plate, Brycen Horras continued to swing a hot stick with a pair of hits. McGuire had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Baker, Keegan Clarke, Jackson Vittetoe, Aidan Greiner and Silas Pappas all had a hit. Greiner scored the other run. The win moved Keota to 1-1 on the year while the Warhawks dropped to 0-2.
