The Keota Eagle boys and girls track and field teams wrapped up a busy week with a trip to BGM on Friday. The Eagle boys were fifth in the eight team field with 37 points. The home Bears were the team champs with 156. Keota got a championship performance from Ayden Galindo in long jump, flying 19’8. Other Eagle highlights included Galindo runner-up in high jump, third for the sprint medley team of Blake Baker, Brycen Horras, Dacin Redlinger and Rowen Horning and the distance med of Luke Moeller, Galindo, Horning and Hunter Grandstaff. Fifth place finishes were Baker, Horras, Redlinger and Horning in both the 4×100 and 4×200 and Hunter Grandstaff in the mile.

The Keota girls were eighth of nine schools with 43 points. North Mahaska won the team title with a 132 total. Elyse Lyle won an event title for the Eagles, taking the 400m in 1:06.15. The 4×200 with Zoey Sieren, Kaylee Kindred, Jaylah Redlinger and Olivia Lyle were runners-up. Third place events were Elyse Lyle in long jump, Kennedy Jackson in discus and the sprint medley of Kindred, Sieren and the Lyles. Sieren was fourth in the 100 and the 4×100 crew of Karley Greiner, Cameron Haifley, Levin Sheetz and Jackson were fifth.
