public-health-week-800

This week is National Public Health Week, a time to recognize the many ways public health helps keep our communities healthy and safe. This year’s theme is Ready. Set. Action!

From vaccinations and disease prevention to nutrition programs, home health services, and health education, public health works every day to support people at every stage of life.

Washington County Public Health supports local communities by providing vaccination clinics, vehicle safety, control of infectious diseases, home care services, advances in treatment and prevention of heart disease and stroke, family planning, the decrease in tobacco use, care for mothers and babies, including the 1st Five Healthy Mental Development Initiative and the fluoridation of drinking water.

Public Health Week is April 6th through the 12th.
