The Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union Wildcats rolled out the mats Monday for their annual girls tournament. The Highland Huskies had the top area team finish at third of 12 schools with 106 points. Pekin won the meet with 174. The S’s had it for Highland with the group of Adley Sweeting, Maiya Singbeil and Chloe Sexton all super, scintillating and sensational in their championship nights. Sweeting pinned her way to the 120 title including a fall in 12 seconds over Arianna Harvey of Van Buren in the finals. Singbeil had a 2-0 day at 140 with a finals major decision 16-5 over Maddyn Sohn of Albia and Sexton pinned her way to the top of the podium, including a championship match fall over Brynn Pogmore of Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union. Marley VanSchoyck finished runner-up at 135.

The Wildcats were eighth at their home tournament with 76 points. Jada Moats was the winner at 190lbs with three pins to win gold including a title match fall over Kylee Hill of Burlington. Brynn Pogmore was second at 235.

The WACO Warriors were ninth with 46 points. Emorry Davis at 115lbs and Makayla Morrison at 120 each finished in third.
