After five months of work, construction is nearing an end on Highway 92 between Ainsworth and Columbus Junction.
According to Iowa Department of Transportation Engineer Christy Van Buskirk, the new target time to open the road back to traffic is the first week of December. Currently, contractors are finishing hand pours and continuing work on topsoil and shoulders.
The project began in June and was originally planned to be finished in September.
The detour around the construction remains in effect and directs traffic to use W66, G52, and X17.
