MEPO ranks in the top 10 of 2A football in 10 categories. “Defensively, they are playing with an edge. They bring pressure. They fly to the football. Offensively, their running back is a senior. He has played for them since he was a sophomore. He’s doing a great job of running the football. Their wideout, number two, has done a great job. Their quarterback is making good decisions. We only saw them a few weeks ago, but teams grow in that time, and they have gotten better. They’re well-coached and we have to be ready for them. We know they’re going to come in ready. We have to take care of the football. We have to create explosive plays on offense and we have to limit them when we are on defense. We need to make them long drives. Play with relentless effort and stay disciplined. Those are going to be the keys to our success.”

Mid-Prairie leads the all-time series 13-6. This will be the fourth meeting between the two schools in 13 months. The Golden Hawks are 3-0 in the previous three, winning by a combined 121-43 total during that span, including 62-21 three weeks ago. Tonight’s winner advances to the 2A State Quarterfinals.
