The best in the state will take the court at Xtream Arena in Coralville beginning November 3rd for the 2025 State Volleyball Championships.
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks have qualified in Class 3A. No. 8 Mid-Prairie advanced to State for the second straight year after a thrilling five-set win over No. 12 Center Point-Urbana Tuesday at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman. It’s the first time in school history they have gone in back-to-back seasons and fourth time to State for the program all-time. The Hawks have the seven seed with a 30-9 overall record. They will open the tournament November 4th at 10:25a.m. Against the No. 2 ranked and seeded Davenport Assumption Knights who swept Wilton in the regional finals Tuesday. Assumption is 25-7 on the year.
Other matchups in the 3A Quarterfinals include No. 1 ranked and seeded, 37-9 Western Christian, facing No. 9 ranked and eighth seeded, 23-15, defending State Champion Mount Vernon. No. 4 seeded and ranked Cherokee Washington at 29-7 against No. 5 seeded and ranked 31-6 Humboldt. No. 3 seeded and ranked Red Oak at 38-2 against No. 6 seeded and ranked Caroll Kuemper Catholic at 31-2.
The 1A field includes No. 1 St. Ansgar, No. 10 East Mills, No. 5 Dunkerton, No. 6 BCLUW, No. 2 Janesville, No. 9 Gladbrook-Reinbeck, No. 3 North Tama and No. 8 Sidney. In 2A it’s No. 1 Denver, No. 12 Wapsie Valley, No. 4 Grundy Center, Dyersville-Beckman, No. 2 Dike-New Hartford, No. 9 Aplington-Parkersburg, No. 3 Hinton and No. 8 Iowa City Regina. The 4A bracket includes No. 1 Clear Creek Amana, No. 9 Sergeant Bluff-Luton, No. 4 Dallas Center-Grimes, No. 5 North Scott, No. 2 Sioux Center, No. 8 Marion, No. 3 Pella and No. 6 Norwalk and in 5A it’s No. 1 Waukee Northwest, No. 11 Indianola, No. 5 Dowling Catholic, No. 6 Ankeny, No. 8 Iowa City West, No. 3 Pleasant Valley, No. 7 West Des Moines Valley and Ankeny Centennial.
