
Runners from the KCII listening area have punched their tickets to the state race. Washington’s Andrew Rees will be running Friday in Fort Dodge. He will be joined by Washington girls Iris Dahl and Emma Horak running for a title.
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks girls’ cross country team looks to defend their 2A state title. The team has qualified for state and is led by state qualifier champion junior Brooklyn Stutzman. The Mid-Prairie boys’ will send Junior Max Swartzendruber.
The Columbus Community boys’ cross country team qualified for the Class 1A race for the second straight year. Columbus will also be sending Junior Iris Garza for the girls competition. Local Class 1A individual qualifiers include Hillcrest Academy’s Junior Marie Yoder and Senior Siena Stanerson. Lone Tree’s Junior Brock Nebergall, and Sigourney’s Senior Troy Klett. WACO boys Senior Locken Henderson, and WACO girls Sophomore Josie Dykstra and Freshman Macie Carter will also be taking the course this weekend.
The Class 2A and 3A meets will be held on Halloween, the Class 1A meet will be held on Saturday, November 1st. All races will take place at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
