A jury trial has been scheduled for a Louisa County man charged with 51 counts of possession or purchase of a depiction of a minor in a sex act. Each count is a Class D felony.
Curtis Sean Canny was originally charged in January with 11 counts and 40 additional counts of the same offense were filed in March following the execution of search warrants.
A jury trial for Canny on the 40 counts has been scheduled for August 12th in Louisa County. A month after the initial trial date.
Canny was initially arrested after authorities executed search warrants on his stepson’s property and found a variety of devices with explicit images of juveniles. Those devices included a phone belonging to Canny.
Canny’s stepson, Coletrane Sipes, has a trial date of September 30th on the felony charge of stalking a person under 18-years old. His charges stem from the discovery of a phone hidden at Columbus High School being found and turned over to authorities. It’s alleged Sipes was using the phone to take photos and videos of a specific juvenile without her knowledge. At the time, Sipes was a substitute teacher.
