The Mid-Prairie baseball and softball teams continue their River Valley Conference seasons at home tonight when they welcome the West Liberty Comets to Wellman and Kalona. The Golden Hawk baseball team is 9-1 this year, 5-1 in the RVC and winners of seven straight, after taking down Fairfield Friday in extra innings 12-11. Mid-Prairie is ranked No. 12 in the latest Class 2A poll from Iabaseball. This year, the Hawks are hitting .323 as a team with a .455OBP and .442 slug, with 89 runs scored, 87 hits, 72RBI, 54 walks and 57 strikeouts. Individually, Tatem Telfer is hitting .467 to lead with 11RBI. Jason Heitman has the team lead with 15 hits, Brooks Weber has scored 12 times. As a pitching staff, the Golden Hawks have a 2.33ERA with a 1.23WHIP on a .162 opponent average, with 38 hits, 22 earned runs, 43 walks and 96 strikeouts. Brady Weber, Brooks Weber and Tatem Telfer are a combined 9-0 with a 0.90ERA.

West Liberty is 6-7 overall this year and 3-5 in the RVC. They were 4-2 winners over Benton Saturday. On the season, the Comets hit .256 as a club with a .412OBP and .346 slug, with 79 runs on 79 hits, 55RBI, 72 walks and 80 strikeouts. Individually, Bryson Garcia is at .455 and six RBI. Ryker Dengler has 14 hits and Ryan Cassady 12 runs scored. West Liberty pitchers have a combined 3.50ERA and 1.46WHIP with a .234 opponent average, 70 hits, 38 earned runs, 41 walks and 67 strikeouts. Individually, Seth Axsom is 2-0 with a 4.06ERA. The Golden Hawks have won 32 of the last 38 against in the series.

The Mid-Prairie girls are 4-3 on the year and 2-0 in conference after an 0-2 Saturday at the Iowa City West Tourney where they dropped games to Bettendorf 9-1 and the home Women of Troy 11-9. This year, the Hawks hit .343 collectively with a .446OBP, and .448 slugm with 68 runs scored on 72 hits, with 60RBI, 34 walks and 32 strikeouts. Individually, Kadence Grout is hitting .500 with 13 total hits and 14RBI. Claire Trimpe has scored 12 runs. In the circle, Grout, Alena Snider and Noami Wadsworth have combined for a 7.27ERA, 2.22WHIP, .295 opponent average, 59 hits, 45 earned runs, 37 walks and 21 strikeouts.

West Liberty is 4-2 this year and 2-0 in conference after splitting a doubleheader with Class 5A Muscatine in a 9-0 win and 11-1 loss. The Comets are hitting .392 together with a .480OBP and .654 slug with 53 runs, 60 hits, 46RBI, 21 walks and 21 strikeouts. Individually, Pearson Hall is hitting .632 with 12 hits and 13RBI. Sully Hall has scored 11 runs. As a pitching staff, Mallroy Wulf, Charlie Howard and Kylie Daufeldt have a 3.71ERA with a 1.71WHIP on a .246 opponent average with 34 hits, 18 earned runs, 24 walks and 19 strikeouts. These teams have split their last six meetings, with each going 3-0 against the other the last two years.
