
Aaron Boone collected another tournament championship for Washington Demon boys’ wrestling Saturday at the Southern Iowa Classic in Fairfield. The senior won all three of his bouts in pool play at 132 pounds, then picked up pins in the semifinals and the title bout to win his fourth tournament of the season and raise his record to 42-2.
Sophomore Blaine Rees was also a champion for Washington at 165 lbs, winning twice by pin and another two bouts by technical fall to improve to 33-10. Nate Edmonds took second place for the Demons at 113, as did fellow senior Jude Carter at 144.
Fourth-place finishes from sophomore Joseph Schreiber at 106 and junior Sam Mason-Goff at 175 rounded out Washington’s performance at Fairfield. The Demons will next wrestle this coming Saturday at the Mid-Prairie Invitational.
