It’s a rivalry match to wrap up the regular season Thursday for the Washington Demons when they entertain the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks on the girls soccer pitch. Washington enters play with a 9-5 record after a 1-0 loss to Burlington Monday. This year, the Demons have outscored their opponents 33-22 including three defensive shut outs. Individual leaders include seven goals each for Audrey Anderson and Giselle Marcelino with Marcelino’s four assists best and Aleigha Medley leading the team with 75 saves. Mid-Prairie is also 9-5 this year. They were a 2-1 winner at Northeast Goose Lake Friday. This season, the Hawks have outscored their opponents 41-28 with six defensive shut outs. Individual leaders include, eight goals each for Amara Jones and Sophia Baker, five assists each for Elise Gingerich and Kina Miller with Miller’s 91 saves best on the team. Mid-Prairie has won 11 of the 13 all-time meetings between the programs including the last two by 3-2 and 2-1 scores. Action starts tonight at 4:30p.m. in Washington.
