On Friday, January 27, at approximately 10 a.m., the Iowa Division of Narcotic Enforcement executed a search warrant at 303 E. Kirkwood Avenue in Fairfield. As a result, officers seized a large quantity of marijuana, in addition to methamphetamine, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, and firearms.

Officers arrested 39-year-old Timothy Michael Carey Jr. and transported him to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, where he has been held pending an initial court appearance. Carey Jr. was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, a class C felony, possession with intent to deliver psilocybin mushrooms, a class C felony, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a class D felony, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a class D felony, failure to affix drug tax stamp, a class D felony, felon in possession of a firearm, a class D felony, possession of offensive weapon short barrel rifle, a class D felony, and maintaining a dwelling where drugs are used or sold, an aggravated misdemeanor.

The Iowa Division of Narcotic Enforcement was assisted by the Southeast Iowa Inter Agency Drug Task Force, Iowa State Patrol, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and Fairfield Police Department.
