The Sigourney Savages volleyball team continued their strong start to the season by defeating the Keota Eagles in straight sets Monday night. Sigourney won the opening set 25-14 on the road and took the final two sets 25-18 and 25-10. Senior Macy Fisch led the Savages’ offense with eight kills, while senior Zoe Webb and junior Amiya Smallwood finished with seven kills each and combined for four serving aces and 13 digs. Senior setter Brookelyn Helmsley was all over the floor Monday evening, adding a kill, three aces and a team-high 10 digs to her 22 assists.

Sigourney defeats Keota for the fourth straight year. While the Eagles drop their third straight match to fall to 2-5 this season, the Savages bounce back from a loss last week against WACO to improve to 7-2. Sigourney will next host Tri-County tomorrow night, while Keota travels to English Valleys tomorrow evening.
