More than half of the cross country teams in the KCII listening area will be on the golf course in North English for the annual English Valleys Invitational Tuesday.

The Hillcrest Ravens will run tonight at EV, they have been off since a meet at Waterworks park in Fairfield last week when they were led by Micah Gerber’s ninth place finish. They did not post a team score.

Highland also ran at Fairfield when the Huskies were led on the girls side by Katelyn Waters in 35th place and Brendan Schnoebelen in 56th place for the boys. The Highland boys finished sixth with 221 points, the girls did not have a team score.

Lone Tree participated in Fairfield last week. Vivian Zaruba led the Lady Lions in seventh place and Jadin Greiser was the top Lone Tree boy in 49th.

The Sigourney cross country team ran at their home meet a week ago where Ellie Yates led the way with a runner-up finish for the girls and Troy Klett was sixth for the boys.

The WACO boys and girls also competed at Sigourney. Keiran Luitjens was 13th for the WACO boys who finished fourth as a team with 93 points. McKenzie Vradenburg led the Warrior girls taking 12th individually.

Keota was last on the course at Sigourney last week with Owen Morris pacing the Eagles in 30th place.

Joining these area teams tonight at EV will be Belle Plaine, Durant, HLV, Iowa Valley, The No. 17 in Class 1A North Mahaska boys and their girls, Tri-County, Wapello and Wilton. Action begins with the junior varsity race at 4:30 and continues into the evening at Knoll Ridge Golf Course in North English.
