Saturday night make sure you come to Hillcrest Union hungry. The Hillcrest Academy Alumni Association and Washington Township Optimists are hosting their annual Turkey Steak Supper fundraiser from 4:30-7p.m. This week, Hillcrest Academy Director of Advancement Jeremy Ours talked with KCII news about the tradition, work behind the scenes and the special location of this year’s event. “This is something that has always been hosted by the Hillcrest Academy Alumni Association and years ago they teamed up with the Washington Township Optimists. We have hosted this meal to raise money to give students scholarships. Volunteers come from our local churches and they are almost always alumni. The Optimists are the ones that take care of all of the grilling and the turkey. We appreciate those guys a lot. This year the plan is to host the meal in the gym. That will give the opportunity for folks to see the new bleachers that we just had installed.”

The menu includes a marinated turkey steak, baked potato, salad, dinner roll and pie for dine-in or carry-out. Cost is a free will donation with proceeds going toward student scholarship funds.
