It was a Southeast Iowa Super Conference double dip in Letts on Friday with the Lone Tree basketball teams splitting the two games with Louisa-Muscatine.

The Lion boys trailed 26-25 to the Falcons (2-14) heading into the fourth, but a 12-3 close to the game allowed Lone Tree to escape with a 37-29 win. They made it two in a row on Saturday with a 62-40 victory over Valley Lutheran (1-12). It was all Lions from the start leading 22-5 after one and 43-16 at the break to put the game out of reach. The Lions improved to 5-12 overall and 3-10 in the SEISC.

The Lion girls couldn’t keep up with the Falcons (10-3) on Friday falling 51-34. A 15-7 first quarter L&M lead ballooned to 31-9 at the break and Lone Tree could never find their footing. The black and gold were led by a nine point effort from Vivian Zaruba and Kasey Chown hauled in six rebounds. They dropped to 5-14 overall and 3-11 in the league.
