The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams take the floor Tuesday when they travel to the Tipton Tigers for a River Valley Conference doubleheader. The Golden Hawk girls come into the game with an overall record of 7-5, 7-4 in the RVC after last Tuesday’s 52-48 win over Durant on the road. The Hawks score 51 points per game and give up 42, shooting 38% from the field to go along with 31 rebounds, 13 assists and 14 turnovers per game. Individually, Mid-Prairie is led by Maddie Nonnenmann scoring 16 points per game. She and Amara Jones average five boards per contest, Jones is putting up four assists and three steals per night.

Tipton is 2-11 on the year and 2-9 in the RVC. They fell to Bellevue in their last game 50-8. On the season the Tigers score 31 per game and give up 49 shooting 29% from the floor. They average 33 rebounds, seven assists and 28 turnovers. Carly Langenberg leads the Tiger attack with eight points, three steals and two assists per night. Mid-Prairie won an earlier matchup between the two schools 57-20.

The Golden Hawk boys remain unbeaten at 12-0, 10-0 in the River Valley after an 81-55 win at Durant a week ago. On the year, Mid-Prairie scores 65 per game and gives up 45, shooting 48% from the floor. they average 30 boards, 14 assists and 10 turnovers per outing. Individually, Carter Harmsen averages a team best 20 points and eight rebounds per game. Jack Pennington has a team best four assists and two steals per night.

Tipton is 4-8 overall this year and 2-8 in conference. The Tigers were beaten by Bellevue in their last game 65-40. The Tigers score 50 per game and give up 56 shooting 38% from the floor. They pull in 29 rebounds, have 10 assists and 16 turnovers per game. Individually, Tipton’s leader is Bob Ryan with 13 points, Davis Webb averages five rebounds two assists and two blocked shots per game. The Hawks beat the Tigers in Wellman earlier this year 60-35.
