Inclement weather over the weekend forced a lot of changes to the Washington basketball schedule with the girls and boys being split up tonight.

Friday’s doubleheader at Keokuk was postponed with the boys’ game being made up tonight in Keokuk and the girls being played tomorrow. The Demon boys will try to keep pace near the top of the SEC standings with a 4-1 league mark and 10-1 overall. No. 3 Washington rolled in their only game last week by a 61-44 score over Burlington Notre Dame. Ethan Patterson put up 20 points, just above his 18.3 average. The junior and Kasen Bailey have accounted for 35 of the team’s 68 points a night. Keokuk lost their top three leading scorers from last winter and are still trying to find their stride by coming in with a 0-5 league mark and 3-7 overall. They defeated Mendon Unity 50-45 on Tuesday and average 38 points a night while giving up 47. MJ Davis leads the squad with 13.8 points and eight rebounds a contest. The Demons have won the last three meetings including a close 46-42 road win last season.

Before the Demon girls try to seek revenge tomorrow from a 64-18 loss to the Chiefs (8-3) last week, they will also makeup a non-conference bout tonight hosting Oskaloosa. This will be a rematch of last year’s exciting first round regional game where Washington upset the Indians on their home floor 38-37. The Demons come into the contest 1-10 overall and 1-5 in the SEC with Alex Murphy producing 6.3 points and eight rebounds an outing. Oskaloosa is 7-5 and sixth in the Little Hawkeye Conference with a 2-5 league mark. Presley Blommers is their lone double-digit scorer averaging 15.8 points a night. This game is scheduled to tip at 6 p.m. in Washington.

The boys game in Keokuk tonight will start at 7:30 p.m. and listen to the live play-by-play on FM 106.1 KCII.
