The Hillcrest Academy boys and girls basketball teams are on the road tonight to meet the Wapello Indians and Arrows. The Hillcrest girls are 1-11 on the year and still looking for their first Superconference win. They were beaten by Mediapolis at home Tuesday 69-29 with Malia Yoder scoring a career high 12 points. Esther Hughes leads the Ravens and is fourth in the Superconference North at 15 points per game.

The Wapello girls are 7-6 overall, 5-5 in the Superconference. They beat Columbus Tuesday 40-20. Tatum Wolford is eighth in the north at 12 points per game. These two teams met earlier this year in Kalona with the Arrows taking a 44-28 win.

The Hillcrest boys are 7-3 on the year, 6-3 and third place in the Superconference North after back to back losses to Winfield-Mt. Union and Mediapolis. Grant Bender is third in the conference at 19 points per game, his six rebounds per night are fifth, and his 59% field goal percentage is second.

Wapello is 7-6 on the year and tied with Hillcrest at 6-3 in the Superconference after a 53-36 win against Columbus Tuesday. Maddox Griffin is fifth in 1A at five steals per game. He’s second in the Superconference at 19 points per game, nine boards and five assists per contest. The Ravens won the earlier meeting this year 51-43 in Kalona. Action starts tonight at 6p.m. in Wapello.
