The Iowa Print Sports Writers Association and the Iowa Football Coaches Association released the 2021 all state football teams on Monday and Washington had multiple representation in class 3A. 

Lucas Kroll was named to the third team as a linebacker and Ethan Patterson was third team defensive back. Kroll was named District 5 defensive player of the year and the senior finished second in the league with 84.5 tackles. The 6’3’’ 200 pound hybrid safety collected five tackles for a loss, one sack, and picked off a pass. On the offensive side he hauled in 17 passes for 405 yards and had six endzone trips. As the punter, Kroll averaged 31 yards per attempt. In the secondary, Patterson created an interception and finished with six tackles. The quarterback was the main offensive threat for the Demons by completing 99 of his 194 throws for 1,553 yards and 14 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. The junior dual threat guy also led the ground attack with 665 rushing yards and reached pay dirt 11 times. Patterson made all 16 of his PAT attempts as the kicker. 

The duo helped the Demons to a 4-5 season.
