Just like that one cousin that hogs all the food at Thanksgiving, the Sigourney-Keota football team hogged the all district selections in 2021 with an eye popping 19 total players recognized by Class 1A District 6. 

An astounding 10 Cobras were named to the first team including five on the offensive side. Cade Molyneux was the headliner named offensive MVP of the league. The senior running back ranks first in class 1A with 1,990 rushing yards and was second in the district with 28 total touchdowns. The 5’9’’ 180 pound back averaged 6.8 yards a carry. Colten Clarahan was named first team as a running back and special teams. The spin back amassed 710 rushing yards and four touchdowns while adding five more through the air for 452 passing yards. The senior also had the most field goals in the state with six including the longest regardless of class with a 52 yarder. Evan Dawson was chosen as a tight end with the senior hauling in a pair of touchdown passes and recorded 34 tackles on the other side of the ball. Zach Smithart and Aidan Schuster anchored an offensive line that paved the way for 3,402 rushing yards, second most in the state. 

Defensive first team selections included defensive linemen Evan Vittetoe and Conner Reed, linebacker Jack Clarahan, defensive back Levi Crawford, and golden award recipient Cade Streigle. Vittetoe led the team with 5.5 sacks and picked off one pass while Reed recorded 10.5 tackles including 2.5 for a loss. Jack Clarahan finished with 33.5 tackles from his linebacker spot and Crawford tallied 27.5. Crawford also registered nine endzone trips and had 631 yards of total offense. The golden award is given to all district talent lost to injury and in limited time Streigle still compiled 25 tackles. 

Second team selections included Jackson Droz (OL), Conner Strand (DL), Clay Morse (TE), Cole Kindred (DB), Cole Clarahan (DB), and Ethan Shifflett (utility). The three honorable mention players included Aidan Anderson (utility), Karson Weber (utility), and Bo Schmidt (DL). 

S-K concluded the fall 10-1, their second consecutive 10 win season.
