Two minors were injured in a two-vehicle wreck in Washington County Thursday.

Iowa State Patrol reports that at 7:38 a.m. a 16-year-old Riverside resident was driving a Jeep Wrangler westbound on Highway 22 approaching Enterprise Drive while 85-year-old Lloyd Kirk Richards was driving a Volvo truck eastbound. Richards failed to yield to the Jeep and made a left turn onto Enterprise Drive west of the Kum and Go gas station. The Jeep struck the truck in the front passenger side area and came to rest in the roadway. The driver of the Jeep and a 12-year-old passenger were transported by Washington County Ambulance Service to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment of injuries. Both of them were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, and both vehicles were towed from the scene. Richards was cited for failure to yield.
