Homecoming Friday is here for the Washington Demon football team and they welcome Keokuk to town for the final game at Case Field in 2021.

The playoffs are out of reach, but the Demons look to finish the season strong after a 1-5 start and 0-2 in the district. They fell to Solon 44-21 last week, but the running game found a little bit of success with 118 yards on the ground, a high water mark this year. Ethan Patterson has completed 45% of his passes for 1,020 yards with seven touchdowns and seven more rushing scores. Lucas Kroll has hauled in 12 catches for 318 yards and four touchdowns. The senior has 40 tackles to lead a defense that has surrendered 32 points a game. Keokuk has also struggled this season with a 1-5 mark and like Washington, the only win is against Mount Pleasant. In their losses, the Chiefs have been outscored by an average of 35 points. Lucas Swainey and Bryor Lindner split time as quarterback with the two combining for 418 passing yards and just one score. Equilius Lee is the featured back with 316 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Washington has won 12 of the last 14 meetings including a pair of games last year by 62-8 and 47-6 final scores.

The 103rd homecoming showdown begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight and listen to the live play-by-play on FM 106.1. Our coverage begins at 6 p.m. with the KCII Football Friday Preview Show and we take over from Case Field at 7 p.m.
