A Brighton man was arrested Friday for violating his parole.

The Washington County Communications Center was informed at 12:13 p.m. that the Henry County Sheriff’s Office had 30-year-old Michael James Carpenter in custody on a Washington County warrant. He was transported to the Washington County Jail on a $40,000 cash or surety bond. Court records show that among the parole conditions violated, Carpenter quit his job, admitted that he used methamphetamine, and was unsuccessfully discharged from a substance abuse treatment program on September 22nd.

Carpenter was serving parole for Des Moines and Henry County convictions dating back as early as February of 2016 on offenses including class C felony delivery of methamphetamine. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
