A new business is open for one more weekend to give area families an early taste of fall.

Orange Acres Pumpkin Patch will be open for their final day this year on Saturday. Over four acres of pumpkins have been planted with a corn maze, kids games, farm animal barn tour and more. Co-owner Kari Turner explains why she and her husband Brayton started the pumpkin patch, “We just enjoy it so much, as far as pumpkins in general, and I just feel like maybe we both felt this is something that the community could really enjoy as well and then something they could enjoy as much as we do. So we just kind of gave it a thought and see if this is something that is going to work for our community and it’s something else that the whole community can kind of benefit off of and get something to do for the fall.”

Turner adds with this being their first year they didn’t know what to expect, but they hope to be open for longer in future years as they continue to develop. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is $5 per person with children ages two and under admitted free. Orange Acres is located at 2005 260th St in Washington. For more information visit here
