The first road trip of 2021 is tonight for the Winfield-Mt. Union football team when they make the short drive to New London to face the Tigers for an 8-player district 6 showdown.

The Wolves are 2-0 and have passed the eye test offensively with a 75 point average headlined by 942 total yards and 18 touchdowns from Cam Buffington. Caleb Giese and Abram Edwards have been his main targets with a combined 19 receptions for 512 yards and nine scores. The 1-0 Tigers have had two weeks to prepare after a 52-6 victory against Cal-Wheatland in week one. They showed a number of players that can carry the rock with seven athletes having multiple touches and a combined 276 rushing yards with seven touchdowns. New London has recorded five straight winning seasons including a state title in 2018. The Wolves will try to buck the trend of five straight losses to the Tigers including a 38-0 defeat last year. 

The week three matchup gets underway at 7 p.m. this evening in New London.
