It was a productive day at the office for the Columbus soccer teams on Tuesday when they traveled to Donnellson and came away with a doubleheader sweep.

The Wildcat girls jumped all over Central Lee (4-5) in the first half scoring five goals before intermission and that is all they needed in a 5-2 victory. Juvixsa Valdez tallied another hat trick with three goals to put her at 11 on the season. Odalyz Valdez and Aaliyah Santos also found the back of the net and Alynna Leos had 11 saves in goal. Columbus improves to 5-3 overall. The boys’ game was tied 1-1 at half, but the blue and white took control after the break to win 3-1. Gabe Alcala, Javier Panchillo, and Daniel Martinez all scored. The Wildcats are now 6-4.

The boys host Danville on Friday and the girls are off until Tuesday when they face off with the Hawks once again.
