Coming off of a tough overtime loss on Saturday, there were no ill effects for the Washington boys’ soccer team last night when they traveled to Keokuk and stomped their way to an 11-2 win.

The Chiefs (0-10) hung tough in the first half by taking a pair of early leads at 1-0 and 2-1, but back-to-back Emmanuel Raymundo goals in the 17th and 18th minute opened the floodgates for the Demon offense. They tallied three more scores before break and never looked back for the nine goal victory where six players found the back of the net. Noah Suchan led the way with a hat trick of three goals. Raymundo, Zac Stout, and Erick Ortez Jr. each had two and Luciano Marcelino as well as Adin Muff added one. Angel Mata dished out three assists and Stout had two. Cole Anderson managed 10 saves at the other end and even collected an assist while in goal.

Washington improves to 7-3 overall and 6-2 in the Southeast Conference. They return home Thursday against Fairfield (6-3).
