The Mid-Prairie boys and girls soccer teams take the pitch in Wellman tonight when they host Northeast Goose Lake and Prince of Peace. The Golden Hawk girls are 4-2 entering play after splitting their first two matches of the week, falling to Solon 2-0 Monday and beating Anamosa 5-2 on the road Tuesday. In the victory over the Blue Raiders, the Hawks had two goals apiece from Esther Hughes and Sophia Baker and one from Evelyn Gerber. Assists came from Hughes and Kina Miller. On the season, Hughes leads the Hawks with 12 goals, fifth most in class 1A. Kaitlin Martin has a team best four assists. In goal, Emily Swartzentruber has 26 saves.

Northeast Goose Lake is 0-3 on the season with losses to West Liberty, Marquette Catholic and Tipton by a combined 19-2 count. The Rebels lost to Tipton 5-0 on Monday. For the season Northeast is led by Cenady Soenksen with two goals, Emily Johnson has one assist and Natalie Krogman 16 saves. These two teams have split their last four meetings with Mid-Prairie winning 5-3 in 2019.

The Mid-Prairie boys are 4-0 on the season after a 5-0 win at Anamosa Tuesday. Against the Blue Raiders, Jack Pennington and Yassin Ahmed each had two goals, Ryan Jones scored once. Pennington and Ahmed each had two assists with Jones posting one helper. The Golden Hawks are currently ranked No. 8 in class 1A according to the latest poll from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. On the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Owen Trimpe with five goals. Ethan Trimpe is best on the team with four assists. Keaton Graber has made five saves on the year.

Prince of Peace is 2-3 on the season with losses to Davenport North, West Liberty and Marquette Catholic while scoring wins over Davenport West and Tipton. In their last match, they beat the Tigers 5-3. Jackson Smock led the Irish with two goals and an assist. On the season, Prince of Peace is led by Marcus Blount with eight goals. Blount and Kyle Sager each have three assists. In goal, Eric Berry has made 69 saves. This will be the first all-time meeting between the two schools.
