A Washington man was arrested after stealing a side-by-side vehicle Saturday morning.

According to the Washington County Communications Center, at about 7:16 a.m. a resident in the 1000 block of Tupelo Boulevard northeast of Riverside informed dispatch that he saw someone take off with their gray Polaris Ranger with a cab, and that his truck was also stuck in a field. A sheriff’s deputy responded, locating an unoccupied vehicle involved in an incident with an anhydrous applicator, which suffered extensive front end damage. The vehicle was towed from the scene. A Washington police officer located the Polaris at the residence of 22-year-old Lane Franklin Burlingame, in the 1600 block of North 3rd Avenue in Washington. Burlingame was arrested for first degree theft, a class C felony, and trespassing. He was also cited for operating without owner’s consent. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
