Washington city residents are being notified of possible changes in their water pressure as the city’s maintenance and construction department is conducting fire hydrant flushing.

Maintenance and Construction Superintendent JJ Bell says they began hydrant flushing Monday and anticipate the process to last 10-14 days. During flushing residents may experience temporary loss of water pressure, discoloration, rust, or other changes in water conditions. Any questions may be directed to the department at 319-653-2947.
