It was a pleasant evening to kick off the soccer campaign last night for the Washington boys when they welcomed Newton for a scrimmage in the first live action since 2019.

The exhibition event did not have a team score, but Zac Stout scored a header goal off of a pass from Emmanuel Raymundo. All 21 varsity players saw action including 13 of them being underclassmen and having their first high school experience. All three goalies battling for the starting spot got in including DaShaun Westphal-Edwards, Cole Anderson, and Will Gilchrist-Brock.

The first official game is scheduled for Thursday when the Demons travel to Riverside to face Highland for a 4:30 p.m. start.
