The 2022 fiscal year budget will be the focus of a special meeting of the Washington City Council Wednesday night.

The special session starts at 7 p.m. and the agenda includes a workshop on the 2022 budget followed by discussion and consideration of setting the public hearing for the city’s budget on March 2nd.

Prior to the budget meeting, the council will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. with an agenda that includes discussion and consideration of a resolution fixing date of March 2nd for a hearing on general obligation capital loan notes not to exceed $1,470,000. Also scheduled is a special presentation on the city’s mask policies and the Washington Police Department’s 2020 annual report.

Both meetings will be in the council chambers.
