The postseason journey came to an abrupt end for the Lone Tree girls on Thursday when they fell to Calamus-Wheatland 53-20 in a first round class 1A regional. 

The Warriors made their mark early jumping out to a 17-2 lead after the first and 33-7 at the break. The Lions could never break double digits for a quarter in the 33-point defeat. The Warriors’ Kahlie Hill led all scorers with 19 points. 

Calamus-Wheatland improves to 12-8 and faces Winfield-Mt. Union (17-0) on Tuesday in a regional quarterfinal. Lone Tree closes the season 4-12 and bids farewell to five seniors in Skylar Smith, Josie Mullinnix, Elizabeth Fuller, Maddie Jacque, and Allison Marshek.
