Two area boys’ basketball teams met up in Riverside on Monday and it was all Keota in a non-conference matchup against Highland with the Eagles winning 73-40.

The Huskies held their own in the first half trailing just 31-22 at the break, but a 20-7 third and 22-11 fourth led to the 33-point blowout. Luke Hammen led the victorious Eagles with 22 points including going six of 12 from deep. The senior also hauled in eight rebounds and dished out four assists. Carson Sprouse hit four triples to tally 20 points and Brady Duwa added 10 points. Keota was scorching hot from deep connecting on 14 of 26 attempts for the game. 

Highland closes the regular season 4-9 and they gear up for a class 1A district game on Friday against WACO. Keota moves to 17-1 and they host Twin Cedars on Monday to open their playoff journey.
