eli-1-21

The Hillcrest Academy boys basketball team continued their winning ways Tuesday, posting their fifth victory in a row, this time taking down Mediapolis at Bud McClearn Court 44-34. It was a defensive battle early, with the Ravens leading 8-7 after one quarter and MEPO with an 18-16 advantage at half. Hillcrest once again followed the formula that has led them to success since Christmas, a big second half and strong finish to collect the win. They outscored the Bulldogs 28-16 in total in the second half including closing on a 17-7 run that lasted the entire fourth quarter. Eli Ours led the Ravens with 20 points. The outing pushed him over the 1,000 point mark for his career, becoming the eighth Raven in school history and first since 2012 to accomplish the feat. John Hughes added 11 for Hillcrest in the win. The Ravens push their record to 7-4 with the victory and get set to take on division leading Wapello on the road Friday.
