The City of Washington is offering its annual live Christmas tree disposal.

Maintenance and Construction Superintendent JJ Bell tells KCII that a tree drop off barricade has been set up on the southeast corner of the downtown square, and will be available through January 10th. For those who can’t drop off a tree downtown, Bell says city employees are driving around town picking up trees that are placed on street corners through January 10th. He asks not to place the trees near fire hydrants. Bell reminds residents to be sure to clean off any decorations before disposing of a tree.
