A member of the 2020 Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team is set to play at the next level. Mid-Prairie senior Nathan Quinby announced following the season that he will be pursuing athletics and academics at Loras College in Dubuque. Quinby spoke with KCII sports about his decision. “Over the summer I started thinking about how I didn’t want football to end. Loras is an up-and-coming program, they went 5-5 this last year, and it looks like they are going to keep getting better.  I love the Dubuque area, I have a lot of family there. The Rock Bowl Stadium is really cool and they have neat tradition there. Their coaches talked with me about how I play the corner position. At Mid-Prairie we play man quite a bit, they also play man a lot at Loras, so that fits perfectly with what I have already been doing. They play a lot of press coverage. I really enjoy press coverage because it creates a lot of turnovers at corner. You get a lot of chances to make plays on the ball. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and getting a chance to be part of a family with the Duhawk football team and getting my college degree.”

In two years in the varsity rotation at Mid-Prairie, Quinby finished with 21 tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery defensively. On the offensive side of the ball he finished with 187 yards and six touchdowns. At Loras, Quinby will study sports management with the goal to work with a professional football franchise in the future.
