reinier

Despite playing fewer games in the most recent season, Mid-Prairie running back Kayden Reinier still put his name in the Golden Hawk record book for most rushing yards, points and touchdowns in a single season. Reinier, a senior, finished the year, through eight games, with 1,271 yards on 151 carries and 17 touchdowns. His yards total ranks eighth in Mid-Prairie history for a single season, ahead of Kevin Kos’ 1,214 yards in 1976 and behind Ricky Vargas’ 1,304 yards in 2016. Tanner Miller leads the category with his 2008 season of 2,034 yards.

Reinier also posted 104 total points this season, 102 of those coming on his 17 touchdowns. He added a two point conversion in the Golden Hawks’ loss to Williamsburg. That total places him ninth on the all-time season scoring list, ahead of Kevin Kos with 102 in 1975 and behind Dallas Duwa’s 112 points in 1980. Tanner Miller’s 2008 season with 266 points is the school record.

Reinier’s 17 touchdown runs places him eighth all-time for a single season. Kevin Kos in 1975 and Jordan Montgomery in 2004 share the spot behind him with 16. Ahead of him with 21 touchdowns are Josh Berry in 2005, Ricky Vargas in 2016 and Reinier’s own 2019 season. Tanner Miller holds the single season record for touchdowns with 33.
