The Iowa High School Volleyball postseason commences tonight and a class 1A area bout will take place in Wayland when WACO welcomes Sigourney for a first round regional match.

The Warriors concluded the regular season 23-7, but look to get back to their winning ways after dropping five of their last seven. Morgan Graber finished third in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division in kills with 299 and Aubri Garnsey was tied for first in digs with 386. The Savages are 7-16 and looking to avoid their fifth straight defeat. Joselyn Abell has been a steady force with 117 kills and Kaylee Weber has 114. Madelynn Hornback leads the defense with 224 digs.

WACO Head Coach Jay Coble tells KCII Sports what they expect from Sigourney. “We know a lot about them and we respect Coach Carter and that team. They are getting better every week and we have to be able to match their intensity on Monday night. We have a big senior group that should be able to turn this thing around, keep pushing through, and we will see how far we can go in this tournament.”

The Warriors have won the last four meetings including sweeping a tournament match in September.

The playoff action begins at 7 p.m. tonight in Wayland.
