The Mid-Prairie School Board has agreed to continue to not allow visitors and volunteers to be in school buildings at this time. Superintendent Mark Schneider told the board at Monday’s meeting that due to the continued spread of COVID-19, allowing visitors and volunteers would be a risk to student and staff health. Schneider says school administrators will continue discussions on this restriction throughout the school year and hopes to have volunteers return to buildings sometime this school year. As of Wednesday, the school district had 16 students and no staff members absent due to coming in contact with a COVID-19 positive individual. Also, fewer than six students and staff members were absent due to being positive for COVID-19.
