A formal announcement setting Trick or Treat times in Washington was not made at the recent city council meeting. Mayor Jaron Rosien did not set a formal day or time for trick or treaters this year due to COVID-19. Residents of Washington are advised by the city that if they choose to have trick or treaters then they will need to put on their porch light.

Also, the traditional Trick or Treat Around the Square has been cancelled. Instead, Halloween-themed activities will be held in Central Park on October 16th. The Hocus Pocus in the Park event will begin a 6 p.m. with a pumpkin giveaway and decorating contest, graveyard games from the YMCA, a costume contest, a candy bag giveaway, and a free meal.

At 7:30 p.m. Movie on Main Street will present a free movie on the big screen on the bandstand with Hocus Pocus. People are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on, and socially distance from people outside of your household.
