The Iowa City Kickers Complex will play host to a large cross country meet in Southeast Iowa Monday, including four KCII area schools, when Clear Creek Amana hosts their annual invitational.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks will run in Iowa City tonight. The Mid-Prairie girls are ranked No. 1 in the latest class 2A poll from the Iowa Track and Field Coaches Association while the boys are ranked No. 3 in the same poll in 2A. The Hawks last ran a week ago at the Heartland Classic in Pella, where, against a stacked field of ranked 3A and 4A schools the Mid-Prairie girls were seventh and the Golden Hawk boys were 10th. The Golden Hawk girls have three ranked runners in their lineup in 2A with Danielle Hostetler, Sydney Yoder and Jaden Yoder at one, two and three in this week’s poll respectively. The Mid-Prairie boys also have three ranked runners in their lineup with Thaddeus Shetler No. 11, Jamison Stutzman No. 16 and Chandler Hershberger No. 20.

The Columbus boys and girls will also be in Iowa City tonight. The Wildcat boys find themselves just outside of the top 15 in class 1A in this week’s poll, listed as one of the teams to watch. The Wildcat boys and girls last ran at Fort Madison over a week ago. The Columbus boys were runners-up in the team standings led by Isaac Acosta in sixth. The Columbus girls did not post a team score but were led by Averi Sipes in 25th.

WACO will also run tonight in Iowa City. The Warriors ran last week at Mt. Pleasant. Top finish for the WACO boys came from Wyatt Dennis in 37th. The Warrior girls were led by Hannah Dennis in 31st.

Winfield-Mt. Union was also last in action at Mt. Pleasant a week ago. The Wolves were third in the boys team standings with 112 points, led by Dane Sweezer’s 13th place finish. The WMU girls did not post a team score but saw Avery Maeder lead the way in 18th.

Action starts tonight at 4:30 and continues into the evening in Iowa City.
