The Winfield Mt. Union volleyball team will play in Saturday’s Southeast Iowa Superconference Tournament finals after eliminating Columbus in Thursday’s opening round. The Wolves knocked off the Wildcats in straight sets by scores of 25-3 and 25-19. WMU was led by Jenna Buffington with 11 kills. Keely Malone had nine assists and Jami Wilkerson and Kyndal Townsley each finished with six digs.

Columbus was led by Olivia Carrier’s four kills, three assists from Jobie Lekwa and six digs from Victoria Howell. With the win, the Wolves are now 15-4 overall and will take on West Burlington in their first match at Saturday’s finals round of the conference tournament at Southeastern Community College in Burlington. Columbus is now 7-12 on the season.
