Getting back to their winning ways is exactly what the WACO football team did in week four action on Friday in Moravia, as the Warriors mashed the Mohawks 44-13.

WACO generated 412 yards of total offense on the night compared to Moravia’s 186 and the fun got started early leading 16-0 after one and 25-0 at the break. Will Edeker scampered 46 yards to the house, Jonah Clark had a four yard touchdown run, Zach Schmitz showed big play ability with a 66-yard reception for a score, and a Simeon Reichenbach 26 yard field goal gave the road team a four score lead. Clark and Schmitz reached the endzone again in the third to open a 38-0 lead and finishes touches came in the fourth when Drew Diers joined the party with a 14 yard rushing touchdown. Edeker completed seven of 12 passes for 136 yards and added 133 on the ground with three scores total. Schmitz reached pay dirt twice on three receptions for 106 yards and the junior led the defense with seven tackles.

Head Coach Chad Edeker tells KCII Sports there was no sluggish start despite a long bus ride. “We came out really strong on both sides. Our defense shut them out for a half and they didn’t have a first down until late in the second. Offensively we moved the ball right away. Our three interior lineman in Tyler and Taylor Sutton and Tim Willis did a great job of getting off the ball.”

The Warriors improve to 2-2 and get back at it Friday at Tri-County (1-3).
